Opened on TG. Even with 6-7 hours, it never really opened up. Tight, high acid. Recorked and gave it until Saturday and what a transformation. Mushroom, earth, leather, with fruit still present. Happy to have had the second experience — 3 months ago

Barolo Riserva Speciale Nebbiolo 1967

One hour in the decanter. Lots of sediment. Cork removed by a Durand and still in good condition. Umami and tar while it gained volume and mouthfeel in the glass over the next hour. Savory and delicious. 🤤 — 4 months ago

Monprivato di Castiglione Falletto Barolo Nebbiolo 2007

2007 vintage drinking very well - was almost ready out of the bottle but improved with a few hours in the decanter. Wonderful red fruit on the palate with strawberries, raspberries and red cherries. Alcohol was slightly perceptible. This is in a good place and seems unlikely to improve much, but nowhere near a state of decline. Fruit is still quite primary with nice acidity — 2 months ago
