Coto de imaz
Gran reserva 2018
Rioja
Nice rioja. Warmer than I like but it’s hot this summer. Smooth. Floral notes. Easy to drink. Low tannins. Great taste. Highly recommend. Didn’t even loose my taste for drinking after looking at my wife’s cut open finger from the knives i just sharpened. Dry, doesn’t make your mouth pucker. Gets better the more you drink. 9.2. 33$ great value.

Nappa 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon
Really nice cab. Opened it up yesterday but was way too tired to drink it. Tonight with pasta after the kids spring break it tasted great. Fruit forward but not overly jammy. Nice nose. No heavy tannins. I think it tastes better after dinner with a nice chocolate. Would highly recommend. 39$. 9.3 — 5 months ago
Peake ranch
2022 Syrah
First Syrah I’ve had in a while. Also on 1600 calories so it’s going a little to my head. Nice floral bouquet, that I got for my wife ! Really easy to drink. Not super dry. Heavier than a Pinot. Reminds me a bit of an Italian wine. Would recommend. Had the last glass the next day with dinner. Great. 22$ — 6 months ago

Ercolani riserva 2020
Vino nobile di montepulciano
Crisp very low tannins. Bought a bottle in montepulciano quickly after a great wine tasting at another vineyard. The smooth taste and very fruit forward taste is great for a quick panini under a pavilion in Chianti. A bit too much fruit. But on a Beautiful perfect night it is fantastic. Plus I just beat my family in monopoly deal which makes the night a 10. And the wine a 8.5

Terre rubine
Langhe Nebbiolo 2021.
Initial smell questionable. I also got pranked by my kids with a glass of red wine vinegar since it’s April fools day. I wasn’t a big fan at first but it tasted better as it sat. Light like a Pinot but Not a great aftertaste. Not bad not great. Midweek vino after first kids soccer practice. 8.2? 20$ — 6 months ago
Il vegro

Classico superiore
Ripasso
2009
Cork was stuck but opened it up on a long week Thursday. Better as it opened up as it’s 17 years old. Really nice smooth wine when some older wines tend to be more brownish in appearance and higher alcohol tasting, this wine tastes still young. This is a really good wine for being this old and a bad cork. Would absolutely get this again. Would love to compare a young bottle to an older. Went great with chicken on the grill and a great salad. 9.2 $39 — a month ago
Cain five
2015
Five varieties
Dry. Nose is better over time, but wasn’t great at first. Wine opened up a bit after 4-5 hours. Don’t really think it’s that great. Maybe you have to leave it open. Maybe it’s the fact that the soccer teams lost. I’ve got an older one and we’ll see how that was. Paid 39. Suppose to be 130.

Cain Five 2017 spring mt district. Napa. Complex wine. Probably need to open it up. Dry. Tastes expensive, but that might just be that it was held in oak. 2 hrs in. Really nice flavor. Not acidic. Lighter tannins. Fell asleep woke up and had a sip. Even better. Drank some the next day. Even better. Very smooth. Not that jammy cab. The Merlot and franc mellows it out. Similar blend as a home brew where you get a bunch of different varietals and put them together. But it seems to work really nice. 46% cab, 26 Merlot, 21 cab franc, 5 Malbec, 2 petit verdot. Really worth what I got it for. Need to open it up at breakfast for dinner. Just don’t try it with lunch or you won’t have any later. 44$. — 6 months ago

Light, dry. Not sure the grapes. I usually don’t like white but when having a lobster roll on Labor Day I’m going to enjoy a nice bottle. Not 100% why I like it but I do. Easy to drink. 8.8 23$ — 11 days ago
