The first of 6 of the annual Bass Phillip order. A slight cloudiness to the mid crimson colour which is typical as the wines are often unfiltered. A very Bass Phillip nose and palate of dried cherry, spice and forest floor. A light to medium weight palate. I have been drinking BP Pinots for many years now and this is very much the house style. To be critical the price has crept up under the new ownership and is now just under $100 for the Estate. The following night a note of raspberry. — 8 days ago
No formal notes but loved this savoury spicy Northern Rhone style showing Cured Meats, Bacon and Charcuterie - smoky. Judicious use of whole bunch in the ferment. Medium weight with a little dry red fruits but essentially a savoury earthy driven wine. Ridiculous value at $19 per bottle. — a day ago
For a Victorian wine, pretty good — 9 days ago
Led with a smokey, almost petrol-like aroma, followed by heaps of toasty wood and an array of ripe stone fruits, particularly apricots and peaches, as well as some spice. Richly textured, it was undoubtedly full-bodied. Mild acidity, though sufficient to balance the richness. Finishes quite long with a nutty, woody element, and some mineral nuances. Not bad, though not my kind of wine. Might need some time to find a better balance. — 8 days ago
2021 Vintage as good as always. Happy days. — 7 days ago
We celebrated our first International #DurifDay (10 June) with this beauty from the cellar. Say hello to the Olive Farm Wines 2016 Durif. I enjoyed every last drop of this beauty from Perth’s Swan Valley.
In the glass it’s a deep, dark red-purple colour. On the nose it’s full of dark berries and cherries, mocha, cherry cigar and a certain fresh morning air to it. In the mouth it’s juicy and voluptuous yet elegantly delicious. Gripping tannins, long finish and definitely too small a bottle for such deliciousness.

My last bottle of this excellent Oakridge 864 Chardonnay. See previous Delectable notes. Great citric intensity on nose and palate. Oak is totally integrated - just a faint vanilla note. My previous note in May 2021 said lacking mid palate fruit but this has filled out nicely - it just needed another year. — 5 days ago
