Found a few bottles of this Syrah-heavy CdR, by 1995 Guigal was making over 1 million bottles of this gem that I paid less than $10/bottle for on release, this bottle had 2-3 inches of ullage, suspect cork seemed glued into the bottle neck, yet fresh, crisp acidity, a little Brett, but great balance, medium-bodied, this wine will still evolve, really lovely, even though it’s still ultimately a CdR to drink on a Tuesday night with grilled sausage!! — 19 hours ago

A blend of mostly Grenache with Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cinsault. Medium Ruby with aromas of ripe black fruits and earthy pepper spice. On the palate complex flavors of cherry and blackberry, with oak, leather, cacao and earthy spice. Full body, well balanced, fine tannins, long finish, perfect now but will last another decade. Dust, tar, dark cherry, white pepper, and anise on the nose. The same flavors come through on the palate with balsamic and fresh mushrooms emerging as well. Smooth and lush on the palate, and the tannins and acidity are beautifully balanced. Persistent finish but a little drying on the palate. Overall a pleasure to drink. I bet this will be great after a few years when those tertiary flavors are more developed. — 3 months ago

Excellent selection. Light, delicate, very subtle fruit notes and taste. Earthy, leathery with red fruits.
