Such a beatific Burgundy from a producer I’m growing to love more and more. A very pretty dark ruby red color in the glass with a wide brim and nice, long legs. Just a bit of oak on the nose with tobacco and spice. Beautiful berry aromas here with plums, cherries, and strawberries. The real stars are the vivacious violet notes and that lovely Burgundian dirt.
Complex and wonderfully structured, this is a gem of a wine. Medium-bodied with medium-acidity. The tannins have smoothed out and become rather luscious. As an experience, this is one of the most complete young Burgundies that I have tasted in quite some time. The palate presents a cacophony of red and black fruits on the tongue along with more earth and oak. Spice on the long finish that hits just right. Wines like these are why the Côte Chalonnaise is so special. — an hour ago
A bit of a disconnect between the exotic nose and the very mineral and fresh mouth. At the end a really excellent white burg that punches well above its weight. We liked it a lot. I think @Ira Schwartz had same experience with the disconnect ! — 5 months ago
2014 Vintage - Having during the crazy rain here in California beef roast and Rully- red tawny rim mushroom, truffle, earth, cherry fruit the secondary aromas taking over drinking nicely now glad I didn’t wait too much longer — 3 years ago
Purity. A great combo on the nose of dark cherries, earth and leather. The nose follows thru to the palate where it picks up spices and great acidity. Wonderful round finish with more years to come. — 5 months ago
@Doug Powers where are people seeing my post? I look on my feed and I don’t show up anywhere. Unless I go into the individual profile of all of you most of the time I don’t see your posts.
@Ira Schwartz, my own postings seem to be taking 24-48 hours to show on my own feed, as others have noted, every time you go on you need to scroll down to see others’ posts, as they rarely show in chronological order. It’s all getting to be a pain in the butt!!
