Domaine De Vens Le Haut

Château La Tour Carnet

Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

This is nice. Plenty of ripe blackberries and dark fruits on the nose, some vanilla and prune as well. Lush and slightly velvet feel on the palette with pleasant gripping tannins and acidity at the end. Lingers quite long. — 13 days ago

2011. Thank you, @Paul Krzych for letting me have another opportunity to enjoy this wine! Went great with sautéed mushrooms, garlicky spinach, and pan-seared ribeye with blue cheese. — 10 days ago

Château Barreyres

Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

Very fruit forward, with spiced dark fruit compote plus some leather accents, dark chocolate and pleasant whiff of menthol. Nice, round mouthfeel with plush tannins, pure fruit and juicy acidity with a lingering, uplifting finish. Nicely balanced and surprisingly enjoyable. — 18 days ago

Château Tour St. Joseph Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

This baby was wonderful. It a really good spot. The blue fruit shone through with a silky smooth cassis finish and interstates tannins. 😀 — 13 days ago

Château Cantemerle

Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

One of the great values in the left bank. Tobacco, cedar, pencil shavings, cassis, and blackberries. Very much classic old world Bordeaux, but with some more expressive fruit. Good concentration and length, per usual. — 3 days ago

Château Peyrabon

Cru Bourgeois Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2012

Prototypical #hautmedoc - Demure fruit, violets, pencil shavings on nose; laid back fruit continues on palate with minerals, accessible tannins and less acidity - this 8 year old wine is peaking now and offered an excellent value on a French bistro wine list. — 8 days ago

Château Sénéjac

Cru Bourgeois Supérieur Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

This is ready to go right meow. The nose is a bit damp forest, red currant, touch of black pepper, muddy earth, and pebbles. There’s a lush and subtle tannic structure still with acidity that just hits the tip of the tongue. The fruit is still there, red, layered with leather and the muddy earth again, but it’s delicate and not funky, wet cellar. It’s yum. — 15 days ago

Château Belgrave

Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2011

Very concentrated, complex nose with black currant, tar, cedar, vanilla, caramel, oak and some spices. This is inviting and screams Medoc GCC in your face. The palate is perfectly balanced with a nice velvety touch on the sides, some dusty, very nice tannins, a massive acid backbone, a radiant fruit all along and a long finish with currant, a bit of salt and some nice bitterness flowering up in the end. The palate is not overwhelming and every part is a bit under control. Maybe a tad too much to be a great wine but considering the vintage (which I often find myself liking very much lately) this is a great effort. Happy birthday dad! — a month ago
