Aux Malconsorts Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2017

Médium garnet with quite wide garnet terracotta rim. Touches of cut herbs , wild hedgerow fruit , violets , with some earthy , smoky hints . On the palate this has good density and roundness , with some ripe cherry , red plum , wild fruits and a touch of spice . Good acidity and fine , ripe tannins , good energy and freshness . Good length and a ripe red fruits, scorched earth tinged finish . Quite fresh and aromatically complex , probably the most enticing wine this evening and probably the most ready to drink. Very polished and complete. From now and over the next 10 years . — a day ago

Domaine Francois Lamarche

La Grande Rue Grand Cru Monopole Pinot Noir 2017

Slightly brighter and more ruby garnet appearance . Narrow garnet rim . This has more crunchy , cherry fruit focus , with some chalky , dried flowers , wet stone hints . On the palate this mineral note is also present but with strawberry and red cherry , a bit more structure , tannins a little more present , but still with good refreshing acidity . Lightly mineral , cherry tinged finish . Pretty decent length and freshness , though the Malconsorts does appear to have more layers . This is slightly rustic , less polished in comparison with the Malconsorts, a little more nervy and edgy . Pretty young still , I would give this a bit more time, another 3-5 years or so , and then should drink well over the following 5-10 years . — a day ago

Domaine Méo-Camuzet

Richebourg Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2002

The 1990 Richebourg was bursting with aromas just half an hour after opening—violet, wild cherry, dried rose, and sandalwood. The tannins were silky, yet the structure remained intact. An excellent bottle.

The 2002 Richebourg, after four hours of decanting, revealed stunningly delicate notes of face powder—extremely fine.

The 2005 RSV (Romanée-Saint-Vivant) showed creamy aromas right after opening, followed by the classic, captivating powdery perfume typical of a warm vintage. However, compared to the one from Méo-Camuzet, the DRC's powdery note carried a more grand and graceful presence.

Grands Échézeaux Pinot Noir 2005

It’s always a special treat to drink any bottle of DRC and this bottle of Grand Echezeaux felt extra special. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple hour. The 2005 pours a hazy ruby color with a translucent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with ripe notes of black cherry, blackberry, strawberry, red flowers, cumin, sous bois, licorice, dried green herbs, and gentle warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. In true DRC style, the balance is impeccable and this is showing well; early in its prime. Drink now with through 2055. Bottle No. 2210/11809 — 3 months ago
