This is lovely. At first reticent and with a bit of time in decanter this is really opening up. Dark, brooding fruit. Quite gnarly fruit then a beautifully lucid and complex mid palate. Spice, soy, star anise, rose, berry fruit. A light saline quality. Intense and long. Glorious. — 4 days ago
From magnum. Decanted for 2 hours and consumed over the rest of the evening. Nice dark tawny color. Mostly translucent. Bright, bing cherry nose. Also notes of earth, red licorice, rhubarb. Big and powerful in the mouth. The exotic perfume grows as this wine gets time to open in the glass. Later in the evening this was singing. This large format bottle could easily have delivered more pleasure for another 10 years. — 12 days ago
Consistent notes from 21 weeks ago. My last bottle still with the crinkled label from a humidity issue from the wine fridge. Showing sweet sappy red fruits like strawberry with Sous Bois. With further swirling Violet notes. A wonderful 1er Cru Burgundy showing the twin attributes of the 2009 vintage and the terroir of Les Suchots which shares a border to the south with Romanee Saint Vivant and Richebourg and to the north with Clos Saint Denis - all Grand Crus. Finishes with the finest of powdery tannins - basically resolved. — 5 days ago
An excellent bottle at this price point and its something pretty rare for Vosne-Romanee these days. Light extraction but good concentration with the tell tale spicy and floral aromas, with elegant tannins and medium length mouth. Its a producer we never heard of before and are happy to discover, thanks to our friend John Truax from Flatiron Wines. Recommended. — 15 days ago
Somehow we ran out of wine as our La Fromage course was being readied. So went and pulled this from the cellar. Pop n Pour. Old tawny color, thin in glass. But a great nose with some funk comes on immediately. Has a great old Vosne spice-driven nose. Red fruit and sois bois. A great treat late in the evening. (Bday 12 of 13) — 4 days ago
This lovely red burgundy from Vosne Romanee is a lovely weekend wine and was a splendid companion to the cool summer mountain air .
This village wine is simply sublime, elegant, smooth and delicious. The nose is tempting , the body like velvet and the finish is begging for a second bottle.
To my understanding this domaine doesn’t exist any longer which is a shame! Well at least I still have half a case.
