Still remarkably youthful, it’s rich, dense and dark fruited, layered with classicism of cigar box, cedar and spices. The palate is concentrated and powerful with a silky texture and incredible length. 95 is nowhere near its peak. Many more years to go. And while I’ll never be a real Bordeaux lover, it’s clear what makes these first growths special. — 5 months ago
Clear and medium deep appearance ruby garnet core and bricking garnet at the rim . Deeper and richer than the more fragile 78 , needs a bit of time to unfurl in the glass . More sous bois , red fruits , spicy tobacco , touch of cassis and grafite notes. Very nice balanced acidity with good projection of red fruits on the palate , touch of spicy tobacco but rounder , denser and riper than the 78. Fills out on the palate and on the finish, with good balance and length . This you can imagine being at its apogee and staying here for a further 5 years? — a year ago
Purchased for my birthday-we share a birth year! And wholly dedicated to my grandfather who recently passed, and wanted to purchase this wine for me. The body is a clear, light ruby, with some bricking. The nose is very clean, pronounced and complex, bringing on notes of plum, raisin, blackberry, cherry, green pepper, mint, leather, and faint pipe tobacco. The palate has medium acidity, moderately integrated tannins, and flavours of cherry, plum, more pepper, herbs, and a finish of leather and olive.Brilliant wine! Drank 2017 — 5 months ago
I have been sitting on this awhile so I was looking forward to trying this style. Not yet enjoyed this wine before. I liked it but didn’t love it. Peppery and with clear but mellow meat notes. It was solid and I suspect would have been better with a more appropriate food pairing (I had a homemade turkey burger with it). Will look forward to the next time. — 10 months ago
1998 vintage. Decanted and tasted over the course of two hours. Upper shoulder fill with good (not great) cork. Desired and anticipated "funk" in the nose throughout enjoyment. That light-medium L'Evangile body...the Burgundy of Pomerol. Usual spice box, cloves, tobacco and dust flavors coming in loud and clear with plenty of punch. In a great place currently. Don't see this improving but easily holding firm for another decade. It was ready steady good from the get go and neither gained nor lost anything noticeable during the 2 hour show. 12.8.23. — 4 months ago
If it's been a while since last Nebiollo, this is what you want. Ease into something softer, with rounder curves.
AR.PE.PE is a cherry cooler with herby accents and teenage tannins. Pours pretty, with a clear glow and lots of potential energy stored up, ready to go. Luden's cherries, rosemary, soft salts, maybe a squirt of cola.

Very very pale color-almost clear. Pineapple on the nose. Notes of pear and apple. Light body and off dry/sweet flavor. Acidity balanced by sweetness. — 2 months ago
