Lemon color and has a clean smell of lemon and apple. Very balanced taste of pone fruits and citrus just like the smell. Enjoyable, strong body and finish. — 2 months ago
I have favoured Haut-Brion in blind tastings before, but not this time. This is not the most praised vintage by any means but still. Haut-Brion still comes with some expectations. It’s solid and well made, but fairly closed. There are of course signs of class and aristocracy shining through but too underwhelming at this occasion. — a month ago
2000 vintage. Great fill. Awesome cork. Decanted and tasted after 45 mins and 4 hours. Some sed but not as much as expected. Plenty of sleepy time funk for the first 10 minutes in the decanter. Then, things started to unlock. Medium body. A little bit of everything: spice, richness, tannins, concentration, softness, fruit, earth tones. Phenomenal now and may not improve but wagering that another 3-10 years might just find this at the absolute zenith of the bell curve. There's a reason why this estate is one of my two fave BDX estates. 2.15.24. — a month ago
The 2014 La Mission Haut-Brion offers bright and vivid scents that immediately captivate the olfactory scenes: black fruit, cedar, pencil box and light, minty aromas. It's much better than its First Growth neighbor. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, very harmonious, and has lovely depth with a gentle grip. This is a sophisticated and entrancing 2014, one of my favorites in Bordeaux. Highly recommended. Tasted blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, March 2024)

We were drinking classic wines from classic vintages on this particular night and this fit the bill nicely. This wine (not the ‘05) was one of the first Bdx I ever tried early in my wine drinking career. This particular bottle was as textbook as they come — 2 months ago
