Domaine de Montcy

Plénitude Cour-Cheverny Romorantin 2008

Very mineral with floral notes as well, I do love aged Romorantin, great acidity, balance and depth, long, lingering finish, this should continue to improve for 5+ years!! — 2 months ago

Domaine Bourillon Dorléans

La Coulée d'Argent Vieilles Vignes Vouvray Sec Chenin Blanc 2020

In a nice restaurant in my parents' city near Toulouse with a surf and turf theme. I'm having octopuss legs with risotto and it goes well with it.
It was a bit reductive at first with flinty notes that blew away after a while. Honey, wax, apple notes. There are some minerally notes too. Could it be chalk? The palate shows a massive acid backbone, some apple and honeyed notes, and a long and fresh finish with the same notes that goes on for a long while. Good stuff and great pairing!

Thibault Liger-Belair

Champ de Cour Moulin-à-Vent Gamay 2020

A tiny, south facing and protected parcel of 80 year old vines, “Champ de Cour” typically shows its quality even when young and this bottle was no exception.

Double-decanted two hours prior to service; enjoyed over the course of three hours. The 2020 “Champ de Cour” pours a deep ruby/purple with medium+ viscosity and light staining of the tears. The nose evokes fresh cut roses in the greenhouse (yes, a touch funky), strawberry (with the leaves), the purple Fun Dip, granite earth, green herbs, and decomposing wood. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and grippy. Fresh, ripe and rustic. I love these wines from Thibault. As I eluded to earlier, I find these drink much better than the VV young. The VV needs about 7 years to really start strutting. Drink this now with some patience and through 2030. Thanks Andy!
