Happy birthday to me — 3 years ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two hours. The C+C BdB Extra Brut pours a straw color with a persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is developing with gorgeous notes of white peach, green apple, lemon bar, brioche, marzipan, and chalky minerals. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and the texture is super creamy. This is an outstanding NV champagne based on the 2019 vintage. Just over 7000 bottles produced. Drink now through 2034. Disgorged in July of 2020. — a month ago
Celebrating an LNP win in the Qld State Election. Aromatics of citrus, also Granny Smith apple which persist on the palate with great length. Reflecting the excellent vintage and excellent producer. 9 years on lees. After all, this is basically the 2nd label of Salon. A very good BdB. See previous Delectable note. One of the 1001 Wines. — 7 months ago
(Disgorged 2/15)- Always and forever my number 1 Lieux-Dits and without question one of the very best Blanc de Blancs Champagnes on the planet, tonight it is extra special with its coveted 2008 base and 2015 disgorgement. Always with imposing power, drive and crazy depth to its layers, it unfurls in a Burgundy glass to reveal its complex core of rich orchard fruit, roasted nuts, gun smoke, toasty oak and candied white flowers, all with seamless integration and balance. The palate is generous and detailed, with ripping citrusy acids, waves of saline laced chalky Le Mesnil minerals and a finish that just keeps going. For me, a BdB benchmark. — 2 years ago
New batch, still very nice! Bdb freshness with enough stuffing and depth. — 4 months ago
June 2024 disgorgement; would’ve preferred to pop this +12 months (vs. 6), as it would certainly benefit from some time. A grower BdB favorite; of course made from 100% Chardonnay, coming from several Grand Cru villages in the Côte des Blancs. The Cuvée de Réserve is a blend of more than twenty vintages, dating back to 1988 (via the solera method)! Peters considers this their “flagship” champ, even at the NV price point.
Firm upfront with a rather long finish. Sharp acidity; strong lemon, pale stone fruit, orange zest, and young tangerine notes. Medium body with pillows to carry you through. Steel vs. wood. 12% ABV. Simply delicious. — 5 months ago

This is the Blanc de Blanc Grand Cru with fruit sourced from Avize, Chouilly, Cramant, Mesnil-sur-Oger from mostly the 2017 vintage and some from the 2016 vintage. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The NV BdB Grand Cru pours a light straw color with a persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is youthful with notes of tart fruit: green apple, star fruit, split almonds, limestone minerals. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. This is super fresh and easy to love, in the house style. Drink now but could easily be cellared for years. Disgorged Q2 of 2023. — 8 days ago
