Tasted blind. Dark reddish tawny, almost opaque. "Wild ass nose" my notes say. Notes of red fruit, plums, spice, moist earth, a little mocha and some old leather. Lively fruit matched with a nice structure. I'm in old Bordeaux land with my guess of 61 Mouton. Table talk points out how ultra rare this bottle is, with those in the know viewing it as one of the best CA cabs ever made. Hard for me to argue that as it sits next to the 74 Heitz MV and goes toe to toe with it all night. — a year ago
Fruit forward, dark cherry and blackberry. Medium tannins, nice with pizza! — 2 months ago

Bright and sour yet balanced. My favorite — 2 months ago
After 15 years in the bottle, I thought it was time and was I ever right! Perfectly aged! The tannins have been tamed but still give this classic Amarone the wonderful fruit flavors with no bitterness whatsoever and absolutely delicious to drink on its own. Full bodied, great nose and mouth feel while the taste just lingers and lingers within the whole mouth! This would be awesome with beef, pork, or any indigenous foods from Verona. — 4 months ago
So wonderful, the epitome of crunchy.
Smells like the best RED lollipops, mixed with cranberries, strawberries, trees, red liquorice, delish.

If you drank this as glou-glou, you’d miss the immensity. It’s earthy and mouth filling without being heavy.

Beautiful, with strong underripe strawberries and other tart berries, a light nuttiness, like chestnut maybe, with a beautiful zesty minerality and long finish. Celebrating Tiva’s new job offer! — 13 days ago
