Tablas Creek Vineyard
Esprit Blanc de Tablas Roussanne Blend
Paso Robles, Central Coast, California, USA

Honey and lemon aromas and flavors in this solid aged CA Rhone Blanc, 75% Roussanne in this particular vintage, nice balance, good weight and depth, lingering finish, only thing missing is the oily, viscous component that many French Rhone Blanc made predominantly with Roussanne or Marsanne often exhibit. A bottle we had of this exact same wine back in February of this year showed much better.

[75% Roussanne, 18% Grenache Blanc, 7% Picpoul] Waxy, oily, viscous, floral aromas on this predominantly Roussanne blend, very tart acid balance (likely from the Picpoul), crisp, some fatness, comes across as very young and in need of further aging, lovely Central Coast Rhône blend!!

Much more closed aromatically than the 2014, structured, but also very backward, the Roussanne tastes like a barrel sample, this will easily make old bones, needs 10+ more years of cellaring!!
