This is so drinkable. Light smooth and with green fruit and a little citrus. — 17 days ago
After our Cellar tasting we took some of the tasting room wines and went up to Anthony & Olive’s house for lunch. It was a pleasure to finally meet Olive. She is a; sweetheart, a great host and amazing cook. This was the best meal we had in the trip.
We started off with some freshly baked focaccia bread and this Sauvignon Blanc that again was my favorite on the trip.
It’s pleasant to drink. Beautiful citrus and tropicals, excellent gentle minerality, no grassy notes, green bean or NZ style cat pee. Just great body, structure, fruit, gentle minerality, perfect acidity and nicely polished finish. Nothing out of balance or overdone. For those that say they don’t like Sauvignon Blanc (they’re out there, I’ve met them) this bottling might change your mind.
Photos of; the view from Anthony & Olive’s terrace back onto their property, Anthony & I in deep wine discussion (what a pleasure to get to know and an amazing treasure trove of South African wine knowledge), the view from their dining room looking out to their terrace and one of the vineyards. — 2 days ago
