I’m getting a lot more fruit a year later. I like it more. — 6 years ago
Drinking this beautiful Riesling at Waters in Fort Worth, with crab cakes and salmon. The minerality is amazing the slight peach notes and beautiful light aromatics. Sharing with wife and out laws — 7 years ago
Abe’s wines are often hit or miss for me. This one was absolutely, 100% a hit. Singing. — 8 years ago

Very muted aromatics at first. (A little petrol) But then opened up. Exotic spice & tropical fruit. The color was honeyed. But the wine was bone dry. Serious Riesling — 2 years ago
Skin contact Pinot Gris may have you wondering what we have here. Red? White? Rose'? Orange? Maybe the best way to think about this is to think about intent. To me, Comme En Rouge is Orange in style and purpose - obviously not color. Too savory, too woodsy and too herbal for rose'; too much glow for red. There's tannin and grip and structure.
Gorgeous color like cherry candy Mustang with a fresh coat of wax. Beautiful aromatics - maraschino cherry, rosemary, palo santo incense. Layered flavors of cherry, green strawberry, dried orange peel, spicy cinnamon.
A fun pour - something different, something I'll remember. — 4 years ago
This wine is everything I love. — 6 years ago
WOTN!
Life is short,
Remember to live it to its fullest!
This is a gorgeous example of a phenomenal Napa Cab!
Genevieve Bechtold runs this place. It wouldn’t be where it is without her. You better be nice to her when you see her or else you’ll get no wine & will have to deal with Desi & I!!!!!
@Desmond Echavarrie

Forget how I know but it's '19. CINSAULT or what others call Malvasia Nero. I remember Scolium Bechtold 1MN w story related to the confusion. Blk tea, blk cran, tannic but not obnox. Biondivino ship $40. Sm fam owned/op prod. Oct '23. 14% — 3 years ago
@Delectable Wine oddly enough this is a Blanc de Cinsault, one of the silver linings of 2020.
When the fires hit early in harvest 2020, Will and Karen hedged their bets by pressing some of the 100+ year old vine Cinsault from the legendary Bechtold Vineyard immediately, and the result is a joy: pear, pomello, white grapefruit, some pith and white pepper on the finish. Fragrant and light.
In good news, the regular Cinsault from the vintage also turned out beautifully and isn’t showing a trace of smoke taint—or at least when I tried it a few months back. — 4 years ago
stone fruit, mineral, acid. Stays good in fridge for 2 weeks. With oxidation begins to have aromas of a late harvest Riesling — 6 years ago
100% Cinsault
Fruit from historic 140 year old Bechtold Vineyard in Lodi. 13.4% ABV
this year, Ive had a few bottles of Cinsault from this vineyard from a few different wine makers. The Bonny Doon release has been the most fruit forward and super enjoyable.

Flowery, light, but stone fruity with a bit of smoke — 7 years ago
Like being wrapped in a velvet blanket. Luxurious, long and full of dark fruit. Thanks to @Genevieve Bechtold for hosting us at the swanky Memento Mori clubhouse in Napa. — 8 years ago
