Huge red fruit, soft tannins. An absolute baby with at least 20 years to evolve. Long lingering aftertaste on the mid pallet. Minerality and tannins will continue to become a bigger part of the taste profile. I won't try again for a few years. Huge upside. You can and should purchase while still available. A great addition to the wine cellar. Now that Phelps has sold it will be interesting to see what they do with Insignia.🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 7 months ago
A combination of nutty and citrus zest . Beautiful wine in her youth. I would keep this baby deep in the cellar for at least 5, maybe 10, years. Brilliant even by Cristal standards and may be among their best ever — 2 months ago
Oh baby oh baby! Slight Bret in a good way. A few hours decant and it was sublime. Merry Christmas 2023! — 3 months ago
A proper Burg at the perfect place. Great to check in on the baby MDT, but it’s rocking already out of the decanter with incredible power and energy to its riveting depth of yellow fruit expression, layered minerality and piercing lemony acids with signature MDT density and texture. A classic vintage with many years ahead. — 5 months ago

1/21/24 - First taste of the “baby Harlan” which did not disappoint, black fruit, vegetal bouquet with a slight white pepper, slightly tannic medium finish; more “old world” style with a Napa twist; still a little young; glad I bought a case to experience over the next years. — 2 months ago
2005 vintage. Decanted and tasted immediately and through 3 hours. Great fill/appropriate aging cork. Medium sed. Noticeably dark color. Any trace of the usual Cos baby fat for the first decade+ after release long gone geek. Interesting. This was a lean, mean, street-fighting machine with "minerality" to spare. Intense. Compact. Unsure if it will continue to menace in the next decade of life or retreat into a reclusive, "turtling" period. Best guess? Street-fighter par excellence. Regardless of taking the high or low road, it's not devolving into a drink 'em if you got 'em any time soon scenario. Thanksgiving 11.23.23. — 4 months ago
