Quinet Collines Rhodaniennes Syrah 2021

9.3

This wine is in one word, intoxicating. Fantastic nose of brambles, fresh blackberry, red currant, lavender, grilled beef, wood smoke, freshly cracked black pepper. Palate with tight tannins, med + acidity, fresh and tart blackberry, blueberry, sauvage. Spectacular value at 22 usd. Needs 5 years, but this is why I drink wine. @Lyle Fass — a day ago

Extra Cuvée de Resérve Brut Champagne Blend 2015

It’s that time again- the NY wine spectator event.
Always a great event except this year that did not have several of the first growths and they upped the price!! Bad combo!!

Réserve Brut Champagne Blend

Smells like seawater and raw egg — saline!

Light, crisp, lemon, seawater. A little bread crust on the back end if you look for it. Good and elegant — but tastes more like a good cremant than what I expect from champagne. 90.

@Rob Brobst III ? I liked it. If it helps, I score on an absolute scale and don’t really consider style or price.

So different from Dorian! Nose very Viognier. Light on palate, but long. — 21 days ago

Les Cailloux (Lucien et André Brunel)

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2018

Blend of 70% Grenache, 17% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah & 3% Cinsault, deep Ruby color with aromas of berry fruits, oak and floral spice. On the palate flavors of black cherry and blackberry with oak, herb spice and floral notes. Wine was complex and elegant with fine smooth tannins, long fruit and spicy finish. Very Nice! — a month ago
