Foillard but make it alpine.
Fragrant, light and silky (cedar, rose hip, red and black currant, alpine berries). vintage after vintage, this wine always gets me. Paired with simple pasta and lentil salad. One site, one variety, one wine — no wine or place or label like it anywhere else in the world. — 10 months ago
I’m not sure where my previous note went.
Just when you thought you knew Italy, up pops this might as well be SwissFrench alpine darling from the Vallée D’Aoste.
Blanc de Morgex et de la salle. The town/village of Morgex lies just below Mt. Blanc. The Prié Blanc vines thrive in soil that has not known phylloxera.
Stones, herbs, and lemons all wrapped up in a rather electric pkg. I think drink young. Cold, the nose doesn’t have much to say past stone fruit, maybe rainier cherries.,But the palate is pow! Lemons, herbs, mineral, high acid and refreshing. With fried Branzino, perfect!
Always a sucker for high altitude Italian.

Opened 5 years too early. A nice decant and a good, feminine SLD — 2 months ago
The 2019 Carema Etichetta Bianca is laced with sweet pipe tobacco, cedar, mint, dried flowers, crushed rocks and Alpine herbs. This is an especially floral, savory vintage for the Etichetta Bianca, a wine that impresses with its energy, verve and class. The only thing missing here is a bit of freshness and depth. Gorgeous dense lean fruit. Very in place. Sophisticated. Polished dark plummy fruit with herbals and a good grout finish. Very well made. — 25 days ago
