It’s always fun to taste something 10 months later after you have tasted it only in the cellar. It’s quite a moment. Anyway this is even better now than it was 10 months ago. Superb nose. Wild berries, alpine flowers, intense minerality, violets, lavender, just gorgeous, also a bit wild and feral. Palate is classic Mondeuse with terrific grip, concentration and a wild rustic yet still linear side. Energy for days, ripe and grippy tannins and a knockout finish that keeps pumping.

Big, deep purple fruit, on the nose, foresty, mint, mineral, elegant, silly great nose, juicy and so clean with huge purple fruit flavors and amazing purity and huge huge minerals. Tastes so mineral and rocky, complex and so delicious with terrific acidity and freshness. So long and so fresh. One of the most mineral driven Mondeuse I’ve ever had. Inner mouth aromas. Amazing freshness and minerality is the tale here with all the that juicy crackling dark Mondeuse fruit. Structure for long aging.

Man I love this wine. It has that plummy easy to drink fruit combined with a bit of alpine wildness. Some hint of pine. Tanins still a bit grippy but that’s ok. Such sweet juiciness on the finish. Long cherry with hint of pine finish. Man I could drink two bottles in 10 minute. So good and such a great change of pace from pinot noir and Syrah.
