Vintage Porto Port Blend 1940

Oceanic. Some smoke. Raisin and caramel. More like Madeira! Astounding length. Salty, biting. With almost a peppery bite on the finish. Tongue salivating. Perspiring. This heats up the body. Palate is perfect. Nose falls down a little- but this was from open bottle in enomatic so may not be the wine’s fault. — 4 days ago

@Peter Sultan almost! Wine shop in Lisbon had it in their enomatic machine. Couldn’t resist; it was 40 euros for a small taste.

Aged 20 Years Tawny Port Blend

A somewhat nutty nose, with brandy undertones, and a Palate like great pecan pie, with candied cherry pie filling, butterscotch and caramel. Delicious, smooth, silky. — 15 days ago

Taylor Fladgate

10 Year Old Tawny Porto Blend

Ruby in color with a wide brick rim.

Sweet nose and medium in body with high acidity.

Sweet on the palate with a nice mouth feel.

Showing red and black fruits, tobacco leaf, light earth, brown sugar, Indian spices, peppercorn, herbs and alcohol.

Short finish with Tangy cranberries and honey.

This is not my It is never my favorite port style, but it's very drinkable as a dessert wine.

I enjoyed the nose more than the palate.

90 points.

Vintage Porto 1991

1991. Decanted. Much better after 24 hours of air and still singing after 48 hours. I got raisins, dried cherry, a lot of orange peel, fresh herbs, some wood, a bit of cigar, but I was truly surprised by the citrus I got in each visit. Really loved this. Definitely let it air for a day at this point. — 15 days ago

Vintage Port 1963

I have no words. Friend bought from a yard sale for $8. Has now been open for three weeks in the fridge. Best condition wine I’ve ever had with this amount of age on it. Captivating. Unreal. — 20 days ago

Vintage Port Blend 1994

1994 vintage. Well-crofted indeed. The nose is rather discrete initially. Still a lot of fruit in the mouth, with fresh acidity and silky tannin. While it does not have the depth and power of Taylor's and Fonseca in this extraordinary vintage, there is a lot to like. Give it time to open up. — a month ago

Vintage Port Blend 2016

My 4th spin with this vintage and it's holding steady, if a little more reserved than it was in youth. The 16s were super open and drinkable young but have added more of what you'd expect in it's youth, more structure, more density, just more serious. Decant if having right away. If you can plan it, splash decant briefly and rebottle it with the cork open for 24 hours. — 21 days ago

with fig, raisin, ripe banana, toffee, hazelnut, hint of orange peel in nose and palate.
