Candied red fruit but not in a Burgundy way. Rich and delicious, smooth and lingering. Cherry liqueur transitioning into licorice and tar.

Well, I thought this was going to be DOA. The cork was completely crusted over and slightly pushed. Yet somehow—perhaps a Festivus miracle—it was still intact, even still slightly sweet. Needed a few minutes and then started to show its earthy, nutty notes. Almost too easy to drink.

Decanted 9 hours before service, sweet toffee, redfruits and spirit, sweet fruit on palate, nice balance, long, lingering finish, very fine vintage Porto, but doesn’t seem perfect, or close, any longer, merely wonderful.
