Marsannay Pinot Noir 2020

Primary aroma you’ve got raspberry probably some black cherry a little bit of licorice. You’ve also got a secondary winemaker note (oak) in with a little bit of a vanilla & clove thing going on. Med+ flavor: sour cherry, plum, black pepper, long finish. — 17 days ago

Meursault Chardonnay 2020

As this warms, the perfume is classic Meursault. Lemon drizzled limestoney gravel, a vaguely grainy, nutty scent. Really nice acids to buoy up the rich palate. In a 375. Still seems a little young tho! — 2 months ago

Mouton Cadet Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

Clear, medium ruby to garnet in color; on the nose, it's clean with pronounced intensity primary and secondary aromas of black cherries, cassis, and graphite; on the palate, it's dry with high acidity, high tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, and intense primary and secondary flavors of blackberries, black cardamom, and wet gravel with a medium finish. This wine is simple, but balanced. Overall, I rate this wine as good. — 7 months ago

Excellent! It took very little time to breathe which was unexpected for a 2011. We will be buying more of this if we can find it. — 2 years ago

Bob, It was very drinkable, there were some tannins present but very subtle. Any expected fruit was subdued but I did not decant.

Cornas Syrah 2018

This bottle was opened sometime earlier in the evening before a glass was handed to me. Pacalet’s 2018 Cornas pours, a deep ruby purple with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with wild notes of ripe and tart black and red fruits: mixed brambles, freshly cracked black pepper, bacon fat, lavender, dried green herbs and gentle warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Considering Philippe is Burgundian, I think he does a great job with Cornas; certainly showing a sense of place with the feral nature of Serine. Drink now through 2038. — a year ago

Pommard Pinot Noir 2015

Faint - Dijon mustard. I rated this vintage many many times. Very pale. Drink up really. At its peak - this is awesome but will not get better. Quite oxidized. Profound orange 🍊 notes / Inter-dispersed with fading dark cherry. Incredible well balanced at this point. „Tip of the spear….“. Super complex back palate - what the hell is this? Tumeric, ….boy am I glad i have an Argon line at home to be able to taste this for days. Last bottle. — 8 months ago

Le Ginglet Arbois Pupillin Trousseau 2018

Longtime favorite and I snap up this foxy number whenever I see it. Crunchy strawberry and herbs, a bit of animal and yeast at the end but not too much to compromise the freshness. I don’t think this ages and should be drunk up but that doesn’t make it any less special — 2 years ago
