See previous notes - this wonderful old Semillon keeps getting better and better. Mid Lemon in colour. Aromas of Lanolin, beeswax, wet hay, lemongrass and toast. 0n the palate a soapy texture amongst the citrus and honey notes with refreshing bright acidity. Tastes much younger than 15 years and will probably still be giving pleasure on its 20th birthday but sadly for me this is my last bottle. Totally unoaked demonstrating how good Semillon puts on weight with age and doesn’t need oak unless you want to drink it young which misses the point as Murray Tyrell used to often say. A real treat to drink this wine - the following day the citrus was riper with notes of mandarin. Stunning. — 13 days ago
Fragrant nose of acacia, citrus rind, green apple, hint of candy. Balanced palate with a pleasant viscose texture and juicy acidity with secondary notes of stone fruit. Medium+ finish. Great stuff — 10 days ago
Big, expressive nose, roasted notes but still fresh, charcoal, gamey, meaty, olivey, ripe, spices, really not subtle and very exuberant aromas. Palate is juicy, concentrated and complex. Structured, sappy and deep. Long, finesse and linear. Best of these yet. Seems they look a leap between 12/13 and 17. 9.2 for now. Air will help. I’ll be back.
Juicy and complex palate. Really layered. Juicy and deep. Balanced, pure and fresh. Awesome. 9.2 to 9.3. — 6 days ago
