D122 Pinot Noir 2013

Wow, the six years since my last btl have really been generous to this wine. Absolutely lovely light-styled PN now. On the nose: perfumed red fruit, loads of stony minerality, soft rose hips, a hint of blood orange..fantastic aromatic complexity and still rather primary. On the palate: excellent density, very nice acidity and weight, with more spicy red fruit and lots of stony notes. Lovely soft spice and very soft tannin on the elegant finish. This is fantastic now, and seems like it will age very gracefully, if this btl is representative. Yum! — 7 days ago

"The Prospect" Sierra Madre Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017

A lovely clove and raspberry, maybe some stone. Very nice acidity. My third pinot noir from Paul Lato Wines. The best: still "The Prospect". But maybe in three years... — 14 days ago

Réserve de Léonie Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2017

Blend of 60% Grenache & 40% Syrah. Medium Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruit and spice. On the palate flavors of raspberry and plum, some spice and balanced acidity. Rustic tannins, medium finish ending with berry notes. — 17 days ago

Vaudésir Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay 2015

Nice Chablis with the Droin signature, crisp, milky slightly almost, not the longest finish but very good. 90-91 — 3 days ago

Chavignol Sancerre Pinot Noir Rosé 2020

Nose has sliced early season cherry, freshly cut hay field, dry chalk, cold raspberries and orange zest.

Palate has dried raspberries, ripe tart cherry, warm sourdough bread, moist limestone and orange peel. A very fun wine, 2020 vintage, the first we've had not a Nouveau!

Pre-birthday dinner for our dear COVID bubble friend; we've only allowed one of our close friends into the house for almost the past year, tonight we're celebrating that he's one year older than me. 😉

Chablis Vieilles Vignes Chardonnay 2017

This may be the best straight Chablis AOC I’ve had. Classic nose has copious amounts of ripe, apply fruit, loads of fresh, homemade brothy notes, and sweet crushed, moist limestone minerality. Packed with flavor and intensely minerally in the mouth. Just round-textured liquid stones. Nice acids for a modern era Chablis. Lip-smackingly intense. What a value. Wish I got more of this. — 21 days ago
