Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Had this opened and decanting for 2 hours and it did not feel like enough time for this wine to emerge.

Dense and chewy. This wine seemed to hold back but brimming with flavor

Saving the next few j have for awhile

Very young. Still somewhat unstructured and tannins that need to mellow. But good potential. — a month ago

Réserve Brut Grand Cru Champagne Blend

Nice, light body & mousse. Pear, red & green apple, pineapple, white peach, cream soda, vanillin, caramel & honey notes, light white spice, some nice yeastiness, bread dough, light & soft chalkiness/limestone, sea spray, white spring flowers w/ yellow lilies, soft, round acidity and a well balanced, rounded, elegant finish.

Disgorged 11/22. 80% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay.

Les Jumelles Côte-Rôtie Syrah 1985

From magnum. Initially this smelled of bandaid and dirty diapers. However, with air the stink blew off to reveal a beautiful mature wine with lovely sweet fruit with more style resolved tannins. — 18 days ago

Domaine de Beaurenard (Paul Coulon et Fils)

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhône Blend 1995

Opened about 8 hours prior to service and Audouze’d. The 1995 pours a pale garnet with a transparent core and a watery rim. There significant variation of the rim too. The viscosity is medium and there is no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing (still!) with notes of bright red cherries, anise, garrigue, cedar forest, leather, dry earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The body is quite light and thin…but healthy. The finish is medium. Very pretty; very Burgundian. This bottle belies its age. Drink now and through 2030. — 21 days ago

Montmains Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2018

Light straw gold; nice nose of yellow fruits, even including dried apricot; ripe and rich in the fullish mouth with orchard fruit but barely enough acidity to be Chablis. — 2 months ago

Insanely awesome! Lovely dark gold color. Complex with butter, popcorn, melons, minerality, lemons, and camomile. Huge wine. Great QPR! — a month ago

Côtes du Rhône Red Rhône Blend 2019

Lush!! This wine was hefty and ready for red meats. You could definitely feel the impact of the 14.5% in this one. Not bad, just a big boy. — 2 months ago

Very good, but not the best ‘97 Chapelle bottle I’ve had. — 2 months ago
