The other evening we opened the 2019 Bergström Gregory Ranch Pinot Noir Yamhill-Carlton AVA. From Newberg, Oregon.
On the nose is strawberry, cherry, raspberry, cranberry, spice, rose petal, barnyard, matchbox and earth.
On the palate there is strawberry, cherry, raspberry, cranberry, spice, mushroom and earth.
This wine is medium to full bodied with a smooth bright mouthfeel medium + acidity and medium fine polished tannins that leaves you with a long red fruit forest floor finish. This is a seriously good wine. I hope everyone's holiday weekend has been one good with lots of sharing and happiness with family and friends. Stay safe and healthy the rest of the weekend. Spectacular. Decanted for four hours. Beautiful bouquet and soft tannins. Cassis, black raspberries, plums, and a bit of chocolate. Velvety with a long, satisfying finish. — 5 days ago
It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Dark ruby in color with a short red rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, sweet plums, cooked cherries, cedar, vanilla, spices, espresso, cola, metals, chocolates and black pepper.
Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, figs, raisins, vanilla, cola, cedar, licorice, chocolates, tobacco, mocha, leather and black pepper.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Spicy and rich. Opulent and tasty.
Easy drinking right out of the bottle, and better with airtime. Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel.
This Single Vineyard Cabernet from the great 2016 vintage, is still young, and would be better in the next 5 to 10 years.
Robert Parker 94 points.
Good right out of the bottle and good by itself or with food. Will pair nicely with BBQ Meats.
A blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot. Aged in French oak barrels (75% new) for 20 months.
15.1% alcohol by volume.

Great Costco find! Classic Napa style but with all the right balances between acidity, citrus, and a nice long finish that isn’t created by high alcohol. On the nose , peaches and dried apricot. Maybe even some guava. Very nuanced tropical fruit, cantaloupe , and green mango. Great acidity that lingers long ! 13% and great Rutherford find. — a month ago
1.5 hour decant(some fine/cloudy sediment). A thrilling deep ruby red color with some bricking. On the nose: Intoxicating savory nose of dusty funky earth, dark fruit, licorice, vanilla leather, slight menthol. Taste: smooth, creamy, silky, expressive palate wine with dark cherry, gravel, spice and a chocolate graphite long finish. YUM! In its drinking window with some time to go. — 4 months ago
