The 2014 Valpolicella Superiore Classico is pretty and understated with nuances of strawberry, hints of white smoke and dusty rose. This is lean in feel yet cool-toned and lifted, with mineral-tinged wild berry fruits and a savory herbal streak that saturates the palate. It tapers off long and almost salty, with violet and lavender tones that linger. The 2014 is a less powerful yet very pretty version of Quintarelli Valpolicella. It was tasted twice, once from a fresh bottle and then tasted from a bottle that was opened three days prior. (Eric Guido, Vinous, April 2022)

lovely nose of spice, flowers, wood shavings. Chestnut and also minerals. Sour cherries and red cherries from mid season. Palate is ripe and rich with wonderful fruit and huge density. Velvety tannins and terrific purity. Rustic and charming and very well made. 9.1 well balanced. After air gets more precise, sweet and concentrated. — 2 years ago
62nd birthday-oh boy! The 07 Classico is so velvety, well integrated tannins and alcohol with a hint of dried figs, plums, and long finish. Great way to celebrate with my hubby! I will save the Riserva for another occasion with my sons and daughter in-law! — 3 days ago
Rare varietal of Barolo. Texture, acidity with flavors of white flowers, match stick, wet hay — 17 days ago
The 2018 Barbaresco Rabajà expresses all of its classicism and nuance in an ethereal, nervy style that is going to need at least a few years in bottle to unwind. Readers will notice a Rabajà that is more finesse than muscle, the direction these wines have trended in over the last few years. Sage, mint, tobacco, licorice and incense are laced into the resonant finish. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, February 2022)

Raisin, then plum sweetness, nicely integrated tannins, remarkably smooth for ABV — 4 months ago
Light, slight spice, could be chilled. 7/10 acid. Great with spicy marina and seared scallops. Dinner with Giuseppe. Could be a little oakier. — 3 years ago

Deep reddish tawny color, mostly translucent. Floral nose. Notes of red fruit, rose petals, dark soil, smoked meat and blood sausage, and a little anise. Rich and powerful in the mouth. Still has some tannin. Gets bigger with air over the evening. This came across as a somewhat different bottle of juice than the 70 Monprivato next to it - with the 70 being more aged-Barolo like, and the 78 being more of a hearty Cote-Rotie or something. Nevertheless everyone loved this and having the two side-by-side. — 7 days ago
