Drank 2018 vintage in May ‘21. Notes of cherry and licorice. Opens up nicely with a minimum of decant. Score based versus all wines. If assessing this reasonably priced juice with comparably priced wines, it would deserve a few more ticks. Definitely worth a try, and you may love it as much as I do. — a month ago
I had read the stellar reviews of this wine and was excited to try it. It definitely met my expectations. The uniqueness of this wine is in the dark baking spices that jump out of the glass along with singed juniper and red flowers. The fruit and oak are present for site, but the non-fruit aromas really shine on this wine. Along with the dark spice and floral notes, leather, tobacco and dried Tuscan herbs are present. Fruit wise we are talking about black cherry and black plum. This wine has a tannic grip in the mouth, but the tannins are pretty rounded and the acidity is medium plus to high. This was an absolutely delicious wine that well represents the power of the 2016 vintage in Chianti. It was better on night two than night one so I anticipate this wine will age beautifully. Will be stocking up on a few more bottles of this for sure. — 2 days ago
What a lovely smooth Chianti it goes very well with grilled pork on an open fire. — 8 hours ago
Ruby in color with a wide reddish/ brick rim.
On the nose blueberries, currants, plums, tart cherries, light cedar, vanilla, licorice, light earth, spices, chocolates, tobacco leaf and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium-plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with cherries, raspberries, plums, vanilla, licorice, cedar, leather, earth, tobacco leaf, spices, graphite, herbs and black pepper.
Medium plus on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a nice wine from Napa Valley. Tangy, spicy and interesting with a nice mouthfeel.
Still young, but already drinking nicely. Feels like an Italian red with a new world twist.
Easy drinking and needs time to open up a property. I gave it 90 minutes.
Good by itself or with food. I paired it with a Brie cheese. Will pair nicely with pizza.
A blend of 85% Sangiovese and 15% Merlot. Aged for 18 months in French Oak barrels (35% new).
