Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1996

Wine dinner with big group including Butch neighbor Art, Philip and Bewan. Great wine and needing more time! Still prominent but soft tannins and wrapped in more sumptuous garb than the regular Cab. So keep the remaining three in storage! — a month ago

Roses de Jeanne Côte de Val Vilaine Brut Blanc de Noirs Champagne Pinot Noir 2018

Disgorged in 2020.
Young and beautiful champagne. I love PN champagne. It has so much power, brioche, hazlenuts, ripe apple and nice acidity.

Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2022

Nice Sauvignon Blanc with mild grapefruit and pineapple flavors. It went well with fish in olive oil. — 2 months ago

Bodegas La Val

Rías Baixas Albariño 2021

Pale straw lemon color with crisp citrus, herb and blossom aromas. On the palate apple and melon flavors with lemon citrus. Medium+ finish, zesty acidity, rich bright mineral notes come through on the ending. Nice value, a favorite. — 6 months ago

Had the steak 945 at the W in Fort Lauderdale. Smooth and robust. Easy and enjoyable to drink. No strong aftertaste. Pairs great with a steak. — a month ago

Val di Suga (Angelini)

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2018

Poured into an Amadeo decanter about 30min prior to service. The 2018 Val di Suga BdM “classico” is a combination of fruits sourced from the estates three vineyards: Vigna del Lago; Vigna Spuntali and Poggio al Granchio. The wine pours a deep ruby with a near opaque, transparent core and a watery rim. Medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, teh wine is developing with morello cherry, carnations, dusty earth, orange pith and leather. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and drying. This was my second time drinking the classico and I’m quite keen to try some of the single vineyard expressions in the future. Drink now with a short decant or through 2033 — 2 months ago

Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

Really good but drink around now. Stewed fruits but still fresh. Not a Bordeaux style but a bit larger with elegant and a bit of power. Glad I could share this with my folks. Fruits are rhubarb now after about an hour. Leaning down a little but still good. Definitely open the bottle of you have it soon imo — 5 months ago
