Couleur presque brune, un nez incroyable, du fruit confit, une texture sirupeuse un peu, il y a encore de l’acidité pour aider à balancer un peu cette richesse extravagante, la longueur est interminable. Belle expérience d’en boire un verre ou deux. 93-94
Almost brown in colour, the nose is amazingly complex, the texture is almost like syrup, there is still some acidity to balance that richness that is almost too much, and the sugar is wow, but it is still delicious and the length never stops, great experience to drink this wine that was made in only 4 vintages. — 12 hours ago
Glorious Chenin blanc. Still very young tasting. Lovely nose of sweet apple, lanolin, homeysuckle and nettle. On the palate: fantastic acidity, good density: sweet apple, lemon oil, and crushed limestone. Very nice finish. Still showing rather young, but very good. — 4 days ago
Medium gold, explosive aromas of ripe pineapple , lychee, kumquat and green melon. The wine is rich, nearly viscus, and packing serious weight. Long, sweet but balanced, mid-palate. Close to over-the-top in richness, but the flavors carry the day. A long way from Sancerre, but a style and food-friendliness that I have to acknowledge. At times I wasn’t sure, but finished the bottle….. and smiled! — a day ago
At nearly 7 years old, the 2015 Pascal Jolivet Sancerre pours a golden color. On the nose, notes of bruised apple, ripened pear, honey and pineapple upside down cake. On the palate, bruised red apple, Bartlett pear, honey and clove. Decent acid. Long finish. I don’t usually age Sancerre…but I dig the expression that some age has brought. I paired very well with chicken fried rice. Drink now…unless you want to see how far it goes, you know, for science. — 9 days ago
Nose: lemon, mousse, sweet orange, candied cherry, a tiny hint of floral vanilla. Smells very inviting!
Taste: mousse, vanilla, lemon meringue (?), mild nuttiness, smooth and silky texture. Distinct cherry on the finish. Marvelous. Great value, better than most champagne I’ve tried. 92. — 7 days ago
Weissburgunder in more yellows than greens. Orchard fruits over celery bitters, with a texture that wraps your tongue like olive oil or lemon soft serve.
Pleasant and subtly vibrant, faint neutral aromas of yellow apples, zest of lemons and limes. Flavors are pronounced and stay for a bit - granny smith apples and sweet naval orange.
And that texture - like a comfort blanket. — 4 days ago
Great sauv blanc. Beguiling honeysuckle and green tropical fruit, pear, kiwi. Very generous, comparatively round and textured for Sancerre but still high acid. This will age well.
Unsurprisingly, even better on day 2. A riot of fruit aroma.
