Classic Amarone, with the bitter cherry flavor that is expected. This wine is aged just the right amount. It still needs to be decanted, as I have found with Amarones, at least 2 hours. One it has breathed, it offers flavors of bitter dark chocolate, followed by bitter cherry. The nose is perfect. And there is still fruit in the long finish. It went well with my goat cheese and mushroom salad smothered in balsamic di Modena, matching the vinegar and mushroom flavors perfectly. — a month ago
Had this at a tasting and bought several bottles, aged well, just opened last one. Aged for about 12 months in French oak barrels (15% new). Ruby, brown edges, with aromas of red and black stewed fruits and complex spice. On the palate, flavors of layered fruit, ripe black cherry and raspberry with cedar, tobacco, herbs and nutty notes. Full soft tannins, balanced acidity, long ending with fruit and earthy character. Outstanding! Worth the wait! — 14 days ago
Some wines age well, while others age amazingly well.
This one is the later version.
Deep and brooding with supple notes.
Bramble and blackberry with blue fruit and figs.
Even bigger on the mid palate with a loooong silky seductive finish that lingers longer!
These Elivette Cab blends are made to age and they rarely disappoint!

classic and gorgeous expressive barolo nose. heavy on the tar, rich bouquet of flowers / rose petal, ripe red fruit, some savory leafy quality like basil. on the palette this is still a younger 15 year old wine , fruit is fresh and tannins are young and grippy. a lot of that savory leafy / foresty quality. expressive and classic with 1 hour decant but wondering if day 2 will bring more complexity. — 4 days ago
Bright crimson in colour. Notes of Camphor and Sandalwood together with tarry red and black fruits. A rich flavoursome and savoury palate - medium to full bodied - a fleeting tobacco note. Firm yet silky tannins. Very polished. One of the best Tempranillos (actually 86% Tempranillo and 14% Garnacha) I’ve ever had - up there with Vega Sicilia. Shows the versatility of the Tempranillo grape and its suitability to the warm climes of Spain. One of the 1001 Wines. 98 points from Jay Miller of the Wine Advocate. — 8 days ago
See previous notes. My last bottle - purchased at the winery on Kangaroo Island. 100% Cabernet Franc. Herbs , Tea leaves, Charcoal, Black, fruits, a touch of caramel oak. Quite a full bodied opulent wine showing those black fruits. A product of the warm 2008 vintage in South Australia. A classy wine balancing the ripe fruit with the right amount of oak treatment. Very polished as you would expect from a $150 wine. Shows Jaques Lurton’s (Cheval Blanc) experience with the Cabernet Franc grape. — 5 days ago
