Finally get to open this 2008 #chateauguadet on our 11th wedding anniversary. Even an hour after opening it wasn’t ready so after 24 hours it’s lovely - quintessential #stemilion, strongly subtle cassis and forest floor on the nose. Fine well-integrated tannins mid-taste, liberal acidity in the palate and a finish as long as a serpent’s tail. It’s kinda of cool this 175 year old estate was restored to #grandcruclasse status in 2008. — 7 years ago

So delicious. #chevalblanc #grandcruclassé #stemilion — 8 years ago
#stemilion #grandcruclassé Deep ruby, needed to open to decant, tight at beginning, then dark jammy cherries and plums, seems pure #Merlot, dark chocolate and hint of pepper. Very little tertiary notes, a little savoury sweet marinated meat. Dry, soft entry, medium acidity, pronounced silky smooth tannins, high alcohol. Full bodied and medium+ flavor intensity. Very good. I feel like this wine is overtly alcoholic and lacking intensity of aromas and flavors. There's no precision, no standout complexity or character because it's 14.5 alcohol and it seems like it could use a little mojo or funk. Very sleek very sexy, whatevers, but I'm digging the slightly green and funky Lalande that I'm tasting side by side that's half the price. — 9 years ago
Too young right now, but every time I've had #Figeac it's always a level above the rest and the quality is always consistent. #bordeaux #stemilion — 10 years ago
Vibrant and still very fresh. Something almost new world-ish about this. #stemilion #allday — 11 years ago

Good but not great #stemilion - this second bottle matches my previous 8.7 rating. It’s got that classic #bordeaux St Em aroma, distantly ripe fruit, earthy forest floor. Nice acidity on the tongue but I’m missing some richness, opulence. It’s definitely needs to breathe a long time. — 8 years ago
Roasted fruits, cocoa, maduro wrapper leaf, spice box. Loads of cool vintage character; a real old school Bordeaux. Plush, polished, really fine. #stemilion #bordeauxblend #rightbank — 9 years ago
I love it. True pronounced aromas of #cabernetfranc #cabfranclover roses and peppery spice, of course the #merlot shines with ripe plums And red cherries and then the cassis notes of the #cabernetsauvignon come in. So soft and lovely texture. Truly a surprise. A fantastic wine #stemilion — 9 years ago
Bright, juicy and delicious! Not as big as the Grand Vin but silky and rich. Loads of pleasure. #stemilion #bdx #bordeaux — 10 years ago
Deep ruby color medium(+) aromas and flavors ripe red fruit and tart black fruit (red currants, cranberries, red tart plums, black cherries and plums) secondary aromas of pencil shavings, cedar and cocoa powder. Light balsamic aromas and flavors. Medium body medium acidity, medium(+) fine grained tannin and medium(+) finish. It is a good compromise between a traditional #saintemilion #stemilion #stemiliongrandcru and a more modern, riper contemporary approach. — 5 years ago
I was writing a long and detailed tasting note, but I got distracted and @Delectable Wine deleted your tasting notes when the app refreshes. So suffice it to say that it’s got medium(+) intensity aromas and flavors and the tannins are ripe medium(+) tannins. Smooth and with plenty of complexity to drink and think. #stemiliongrandcru #stemilion #bordeaux #merlot #cabernetfranc — 6 years ago
What a charming #stemilion Bordeaux Grand Cru. Classic Saint Emilion approachable style, the 2014 is ready to drink now with nicely balanced black currant against earthiness, mid-level acidity and soft tannins that taper away gracefully on the finish. Interestingly this subtle Bordeaux paired well with a mildish Camembert and cherry tomatoes on a toasted baguette. — 8 years ago
Loving this #lalandedepomerol bought it for 25€ in #stemilion from little shop. Deep ruby garnet rim. Pronounced aromas of red and black fruits (cassis, cherries and blueberries) and also celery, tomato leaf and capsicum, secondary (cigar tobacco, cedar) and tertiary (mushrooms). Dry, medium- acidity, medium+ fine soft tannins and medium+ alcohol. Medium+ finish. Only very good because it's lacking tertiary complexity and it's slightly scratchy or metallic texture. — 9 years ago
Very young, very tight. Needs lots of air but I'm digging the rustic aromatics. Red fruits, licorice, forest floor, black truffle and very well integrated wood. #stemilion #bordeaux #ledome — 10 years ago

Rich and warm dark chocolate and raisin nose foreshadows coming depth. Browning grasses, hazelnuts and baked pecans, cinnamon-blueberry tort, black cherry and black currant, wet rose petals, violet-cocoa, and jasmine branch. Tight and young entry still satisfies with spruce buds, pronounced tea leaf, sharp oak tones, cinnamon, red cherry, underripe red currant, pointy graphite; myrrh. Don’t drink ‘em if you got ‘em.
