Decanted and opened beautifully over 2 hrs. Initial nose was perfumed but overwhelmed by new oak. Palate was tight and ripe. After opening up the new oak mostly blew off showing incredible complexity dominated by ripe black, red, and some blue fruit, along with mounds of flowers, truffle, smoke, graphite, and earth. The palate was full but perfectly balanced. Great complexity and concentration. The structure was still very sturdy with silky tannins and taught acid. The length was tremendously long. Out of a #magnum The nose and length were really impressive. The nose was very intense and complex and the wine sat and developed on the palate for at least 4 min. The palate was a little beyond where I thought it should be and the tannins were a little disjointed though. The black and red fruit was very ripe. Rich and warm dark chocolate and raisin nose foreshadows coming depth. Browning grasses, hazelnuts and baked pecans, cinnamon-blueberry tort, black cherry and black currant, wet rose petals, violet-cocoa, and jasmine branch. Tight and young entry still satisfies with spruce buds, pronounced tea leaf, sharp oak tones, cinnamon, red cherry, underripe red currant, pointy graphite; myrrh. Don’t drink ‘em if you got ‘em.
