Pale lemon in color. Off dry. Intensity of acacia, honeysuckle, grapefruit, lemon, lime, lychee, peach. Honey. Medium alcohol, medium body. Long finish. Balanced. Can drink now but potential for further aging. Outstanding. Alc. 11%. — a year ago
Expressive nose of acacia blossom, Lemmon, , minerality. In the mouth as acid as it smelled, light bodied and length. True to the place and variety. — 6 months ago
A mammoth, chiseled beast of a wine that really needs extensive decanting and/or aging. Despite a modest decant, imagine am tasting a tease of its true potential. — a year ago
Muted brilliance. Gorgeous pear and rock fruit on the nose. Fabulous weighted texture on the mouth. — 2 years ago
New vintage who dis? Seamless, unctuous. Truly the wine you need with Sichuan — 5 years ago
Smells like a Riesling, honey and citrus, sweetness that isn't overpowering and is balanced by some minerality. Perfect pairing for spicy food! — 10 months ago
This is an accidental pour... I wanted to open one other Robert Weil erste lage Riesling trocken wine and didn't pay enough attention... well, this is probably much too young, but we like it anyway! The nose is slightly muted with lemon skin, a petroly thing, rose petals, elder flower, a touch of vanilla. Wow this is a bit unusual when compared to the usual german Riesling numbers I am used to. There is almost a tiny strawberry jogurt touch too. The palate is showing a great acid drive, some massive width, some grip all along, lemon zest, lemon juice, that same jogurty note all along... The finish starts with a massive, spherical, mid palate that powers up a real massive complex finish with lemon peel, strawberry jogurt that goes on for almost a minute. This is probably too young but this is a monster of a wine too. Hat's off! — a year ago
Pale straw to clear in color. On the nose a perfume of honey, apricot, nectarine, a burst of slate and touch of petrol. On the palate is a nice bit of acid balanced with a touch of residual sugar. The wine glides through the middle and finishes with green apples, melon and honeysuckle. Quite a lovely wine that isn't too loud, where the low mid and highs are nuanced for your tasting pleasure. — 4 years ago
This 2016 Riesling wine is made from late-harvested grapes, so it is sweet. However, it is sweet in a different way than a dessert wine is sweet. There is no layered sugar, no raisiny note. I get the sweetness of the grapes, and the minerals which accompany them. Stone fruit is apparent, as is the smell of a wet driveway, a whiff of ozone and the faint petrol notes that begin to show in Rieslings over time. This may be one of the best examples of the grape that I have had. — 6 years ago
