This Oakville Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon starts off with an opulent bouquet and hits the pallet soft, smooth and velvety. The flavors are a robust array he of berries with hints of chocolate and leather. A winner. — 3 months ago
There are worse ways to start a Saturday then tasting & talking wine with Tor Kenward & Andy Beskstoffer having the 1980 BV George Latour Private Reserve & multiple vintages of Tor. Wine 94 technically but age & style 9.6. The experience a 10.
Dark, brooding, delicious. Round, lush and elegance on top of elegance. Lush, perfectly ripe; blackberries, black raspberries, black plum. Smooth dark spice, dark chocolate, sandalwood, candied, dark, red florals framed in violets & lavender, excellent acidity. Balanced, perfect tension & structure and beautiful elegant finish that lasts 90 seconds.
Andy Beckstoffer sold fruit for $150 a ton in the late 1970’s, early 80’s. Today, $50,000 plus a ton and a percentage of the producers bottle price. — a month ago

Beautiful vintage and starting to spread its wings. Ripe, lush, ruby, floral dark currents. Volcanic clay, limestone powder, fresh tobacco w/ ash, dark, florals, round-round acidity, gorgeous, elegant finish with refined polish for days lasting nearly two-minutes.

Stunning. When To Kalon still had Cline 6. There is no more Cline 6 today in To Kalon.

I can’t recall when I first tried this but this is not showing much age to it. Plenty of fruit and the tannins while integrated is not as silky as I had hoped. Slightly grainy and given the age it could go another 10yrs easily. — 7 days ago
