I have been a huge fan of this domaine since they produced their first bottles in 1982. The wines are pure expressions of Pinot, delineated, mineral and salty. When young they can be very smokey/toasty but that bleeds out through aging. Unfortunately they are irresistible when young but the reward is even better with 7 to 10 years of bottle age. Tough to wait for that long. — 3 years ago
Tangy, spicy, smokey, and earthy! Plums and dark cherries. Pretty intense with a long, satisfying finish. — 4 years ago

Always enjoy Arista. Pulled out this gem from the cellar. — 9 months ago
Color - dark purple garnet. A bold expressive funky perfume fruit nose so classic of Cayuse with mineral-meat, smokey and mint notes lingering with a vanilla toast scent. Juicy and elegant; rich with dark plum-cherry flavors intertwined with a smokey soil bacon bitters taste—the mineral-iron characteristics follow with a tobacco long finish. Looking forward to seeing how the flavors change with different foods and as the wine opens up. Bionic Frog is favorite and definitely a wine to try and store in your cellar. Yummy. Dark, Smokey but balanced with plum, currant and cherry notes. — 9 months ago
2017 Wine Spectator #1 wine of the year
45 min decant(some fine/cloudy sediment) A remarkable dark crimson color. On the nose: mellow notes of dark cherry/raspberry, graphite, smokey vanilla, floral. Taste: smooth, creamy wine with plum, bitter chocolate, cedar, black pepper, oak, and a vanilla tar medium plus dry finish. YUM! I like it. — a year ago
I am not much of a bourbon drinker, but this wine is amazing. Nice oak and smokey taste. This will definitely be bought again. — 4 years ago

2001 Musar is a great way to start to an amazing week. A delicate blend of Cabernet Savignon, Cinsault and Carignan aged in oak for over a year. At its peak from my cellar - 23 years later it's showing notes of dried cherries, cassis, prunes, some leathery vanilla oakyness. The complexity is off the charts and I'm getting aromas of smokey Tennessee tobacco barn and cherry bramble which is a combo I never imagined I would want so bad. The structure is light and balanced. Silky smooth acidity and fine tannins which is a hallmark of this exquisite wine. — 11 days ago
