The best sextant vintage of Pinot yet! Vibrant bright cherry, lively wine that evolves in the glass. Perfect thanksgiving wine, which is why I paired it with the delicate pork tenderloin tonight. Has enough racy acid to challenge the vinaigrette accompanying the couscous salad. Lovely! ‘Tis the season! — 6 days ago
Just received, pop and pour just to taste one, rich, lush and powerful, with time in the glass and a harsh decant, it opens beautifully to aromas of Syrah such as pepper, violets and that incredible floral scent, very nice even if way too young and with the oak that is a little too present for now. 91-92 for the potential
— 4 days ago
Red fruit in spades. Smokey and charred fruit on the nose along with cinnamon and mulled spiced. Tart cherry, raspberry, cranberry, and cooked strawberry on the palate with earthy minerals and a hint of mint. Runs a bit hot, but solid acid in the finish. — 7 days ago
I cannot believe how good this wine is. Was down in the cellar looking for a white. Saw this was a 2011 and figured we needed to drink this soon (if it wasn’t already past peak). Unbelievable. Easily mistaken for a top-end Aubert, this had incredible depth of flavor, complexity, and a finish that went on and on. Without question the best chardonnay I’ve had from the Pisoni clan, this was a fantastic surprise. — 11 days ago
This 2018 shows again the great value these wines have from Alain Gras. Such a nice bottle of fruity, balanced and delicious Pinot that ends with a slightly tangy and sappy delicious finish. 90
Un beau 2018 qui démontre encore la qualité des vins de Alain Gras pour le prix. Un vin équilibré avec une finale salivante sur les petits fruits rouges légèrement acidulés. Très bien. — 3 days ago
Lithe and delicate. Subtle fruit aromas/flavors of lemon, pear, underripe white peach. Perhaps some quiet jasmine notes as well. Winemaking technique certainly dominates with notes of sulphur compounds in addition to perceived SO2 on the nose and palate (knocking it down a peg in my opinion). Struck flint, crushed stones and gun smoke under deft barrel notes. Very refreshing however, quite lovely with more and more aeration. — 5 days ago
To no surprise intense PYCM reduction dominates initially, before a sufficient decant has it give way to exotic stone fruits, citrus blossoms, minerals and some tertiary character. It has great texture, tension, balanced acidity and midpalate intensity that leads to a focused and precise finish. Few can showcase St. Aubin as well as PYCM ✨ — 10 days ago
Very slight bouquet. A whisper of lemongrass and acacia palm.
Chill to the max for me. Love the pandan leaf subtle note with an undercurrent of pineapple. The fruit flavors are muted and work with the acidity, highlighting and letting the minerality shine.
Stellar. — 11 days ago
