This wine is a total revelation. Terroir-transparent Alvarinho from a cult producer, 9 months in wood / intense floral and layered tropical and orchard fruit aromatics / creamy, insanely long finish, and serious complexity / think premier Cru Chablis. Wow. — 3 years ago
This is a revelation. I didn’t know Cali Chardonnay, aside from Kistler, could age. Still youthful color. Very Burgundian nose has wet limestoney earth, a little hazelnut, lemon oil, gorgeous apple/pear fruit. Focused in the mouth, nice intensity and length, surprising freshness. Blind, I would definitely place this as being a very good village Burg. — 4 years ago
Domaine de Panisse CdP Noble Revelation
First off you have to know that I love! Love CdP. This is the 2012 vintage and it is hitting all the right notes...
The hue is red with a dollop of brown if you will. After a two hour aeration the smell is quite pleasant: ripe dark plum is predominant with a slight hint of dried Mediterranean spices. Balanced from beginning to mid-pallet, velvety! On the fore-pallet it feels bold and tannic with a long and savory finish.
There is a very casual non pretentious quality about this CdP which screams “drink me” after each and very sip... Enjoyed with a roasted Frenched rack of lamb and red wine reduction sauce, asparagus, and cherry tomatoes. Selection by the lovely Maria Chantal. — 4 years ago
I won the equivalent of lotto if it was paid off in wine instead of cash. I was fortunate enough to sit next to a group of very generous sommelier’s on their day off. For me, one of the most enjoyable experiences when drinking wine is the “ah ha moment” . This bottle was a true revelation. The nose was filled with fruit, florals and freshness . The palate was insane, assaulting your mouth with citrus , orchard fruits and a waxy honey note. Endless acid and a very persistent finish. — a year ago
Topaz with heavenly streamers stretching for perfection. Creamy head of structured perfection in terms of density and longevity. Perfect sheet of fog lacing falls like a slo-mo curtain to reveal layer two of mountain snows reflecting moonlight. Nose of bananas foster in all its blazing brandy and it’s caramelized olfactory topography; a malt image in sensory sepia to match the mountainscape. Nutmeg, cola and pecan dessert vies with baklava. The palate is a revelation in balance. The expected Belgian malt emerges in contrast to a dappled vanilla and Connecticut tobacco, pecan shell dryness, and chicory coffee before returning to a root tonic sweetness, and cardamom. #kwak #belgianspecialbeers #belgianale #belgianbeer #pauwelkwak #pauwelkwakbrewery #beer #bier #birra #biere #ale #ceveza #cerveja #belgium #belgian — 4 years ago
My experience with South African red wines is limited, but I’ve enjoyed some Meerlust reds and a few other random bottles. I have to say, while this wasn’t a revelation, it is the best South African wine I’ve had to date.
This was a bottle opened blind for a few people. Oddly enough, there were similarities to this and a 2013 Almaviva…a burnt rubber/tire note on the nose alongside a vegetal/herbal pronounced note on the nose. Tangy/sour black cherries, red currant and red licorice too. Mostly red and black underripe fruit dominant. Even a bit of tar. This drinks like a chinon mixed with a lean vintage Bordeaux…the spice and vegetal flair is there next to the lightweight mid palate from a cooler Bordeaux vintage. A blend of five “noble varietals” in honor of Bordeaux, this was a unique wine that had people guessing from all over the world. After 1-2hrs of air from
bottle, it was balanced/integrated and ready to roll. I’d enjoy these sooner rather than later. — 2 years ago
This one was new to me and a revelation. Really tasty and a little different. Good the 2nd night too. — 4 years ago

The label would normally be off putting to me, but I’m always interested in a female vintner, especially when she is the daughter of a famous Portuguese maker. What a revelation-drinks more like a sparkling Savoie or alpine rose. Close to the bone dry. Lovely pink color. Fine mousse. I love that label now…. — 7 months ago
