Régnié, Beaujolais

Régnié Gamay 2018

Delectable Wine
9.2

Deep ruby. Fresh dark berries, cherry pie, candied violet and a suggestion of smoky minerals on the assertively perfumed nose. Sweet and expansive on the palate, offering juicy blueberry, cherry compote, spicecake and floral pastille flavors that slowly tighten up with air. Finishes sappy, smooth and very long, showing persistent florality and fine-grained tannins that rise up slowly. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, October 2019) — 2 days ago

le Pré Beaujolais Gamay 2016

Red kabinett! So lively and fine. Seriously pungent nose of red berries and florals. Palate density is impressive, probably courtesy of the old vines. High-toned red fruits, spices, and fiery minerality in the mouth. Finishes precise. A real crowd pleaser! — 6 days ago

"Cuvée Corcelette" Morgon Gamay 2017

strawberries, strawberry jam, a bit of orange marmalade and celery. Good dose of acidity and a very drinkable bottle. Well made morgon. I prefer the 2015 however was more layered. I did not like the celery taste. — 3 days ago

Grain & Granit Régnié Gamay

Beautifully balanced wines with loads of raspberry, BlackBerry and violet on the nose, crisp acidity and ripe tannins in the mouth. Forest floor and game notes on a long finish. This wine shows what Cru Beaujolais is all about - five years old and it still has plenty of life for another three or four. — 3 days ago

Raisins Gaulois Gamay

A nice light Gamay, perfect for Thanksgiving. Pale garnet colour, fruity and floral with aromas of raspberry, violet, and a hint of potting soil. The palate has great acidity with some red currant and sour cherry flavours. Paired with turkey, gravy and mashed potatoes. — 7 days ago

Terres Dorees Beaujolais Gamay 2017

Haven’t tasted in a while, have always been biased towards these crunchy, layered & elegant cru Beaujolais. ‘17 Brouilly version is nice & taut, that snappy freshness on entry. Black cherries & wild raspberries. With air really deepens & finds another level, much broader & long finish, strong mid palate, & solidly medium weight. Love it or leave it. Louis Dressner importer. Oh, and for about 20$. — 8 days ago
