Very dark garnet with a dry nose of leather, maybe tabacco, wood and black fruits. Pretty smooth for a dry wine, a touch plummy, some fruit and medium acidity. Less tannins than on the nose (been open for a few days but vacuum corked) but still clearly tannic. A very good wine! Thanks James! — 4 years ago

Here’s to exploring the Côtes de Bordeaux! Enjoying this lovely, food-friendly, Merlot-focused wine with luscious plummy fruit aromas, supple tannins, and cedar / vanilla notes from Chateau d’Aiguilhe, Appellation Castillon.

I weep robust, plummy, pure tears of joy. — 6 years ago
A pretty nose with soft mature plummy fruit, dried cherries, a gentle bloodiness. The palate has good fully mature fruit but a slightly tart and drying finish.... this improved a lot on the finish with food. Supple and quite generous. Good! — 7 years ago
Had this 2011 a few weeks ago with Beef Daube next to a very aged Mouton. Plummy smooth but not too impressive. Forgot I had a little left in the bottle in a cool corner of kitchen and had it 10 days later and it was more enchanting, somehow fresher more berry fruit with a gorgeous hint of leather in background. — 2 years ago

Always a reliable well priced Pomerol @ £38 & the 2015 shows promise drinking OK young but I’d leave a few more years to let it shine 😉

A delicious example of LBV Port - it has all the classic vintage port attributes - plummy licorice aromas and flavors, balanced seemed and acidity, chewy texture -- all this is in the LBV except with a little less intensity. I like the Dow style - it's less sweet than Grahams and a bit more herbal in character. This is a beautiful wine for the price — 8 years ago
Surprisingly lovely for an 87! Perfect bottle from a private collection (and given to me for $30). Plummy fruit still in evidence with evolved notes of pipe tobacco a bit of moss/ash and red bell pepper. Medium in body with moderate finish, classic claret and really nice overall. Would hate to have tasted this in a lineup with other wines. On its own, it was lovable. — 7 years ago
