Some sooty tarry notes. Light to medium bodied - lighter than I expected. After some time in the decanter the wine filled out and put on palate weight giving earthy plummy minerality on the now medium weight palate. Aromas of undergrowth and garrigue. 85% Grenache 9% Syrah 4% Mourvèdre and 2% assorted other varieties. From a cellaring viewpoint rather short term for a big name Chateaneuf du Pape.

Still so young but already solid. Pegau in good years always performs. Spices,pepper but also lots of forrest fruit. Great complexity and nice length. Beautiful but will still get better.
