Nose is faint, fully resolving into the body. Body is soft and supple but wonderful experience on the palate with medium finish. Great wine. Tannins are still there, but holding the body with gossamer gloves. — 3 months ago
Clear deep ruby in color. On the nose, it's clean with pronounced primary and secondary aromas of charred wood, black pepper, and black currant. On the palate, it's dry, with high acidity, high tannins, high alcohol, full body, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of eucalyptus, plum, leather, black cardamom, and tabacco smoke with a medium finish. This wine is complex, but a little lacking in fruit to balance the tannins. I'm hoping it opens up with time in the glass. Overall, I would rate this wine as good. It may be past its prime. After decanting and leaving it in the fridge for 3 days, it has opened up and is showing more fruit. The tannins have also calmed down. I'm bumping it up a few more points. — 4 months ago

Big fan of everything that Peter Lauer produces. This is 8% ABV and does have some residual sugar which is well balanced by the high acidity. Complex and delicious. — 14 hours ago
