Big & self-assured, and yet elegant. Still very young. Very CS dominated nose, black fruit, some cassis, a touch of nice wood & dark chocolate rounded & very elegant.
Proper St Estephe on palate - good tannic frame, juicy acidity, pure black fruit. Great depth here. And aging potential. Needs a bit of time, but it’s already shining. — 5 months ago
2001 Lafon-Rochet
Saint Estephe
Inky black with cassis, black currant and blackberry. Black pepper and lavender with a whiff of smoke and graphite. Plum and vine charcoal give a softness to the tannin which is amazingly strong. Graphite shimmers through dark cocoa, cedar and pepper. Lovely and lively.

Costco winner. Got everyone talking about it. Anise and floral. Great mouthfeel. Defo stocking up — 2 years ago
Classic left bank kosę - black current, cassis, cedar wood, a bit of pencils shavings, a gravelly undertone. Fresh, restrained, savoury, pure.
On the palate this has a very nice, smooth, velvety mouthfeel. Present tannins yet so nicely polished & juicy. Good purity of fruit - black currants, blackberries, a bit of plum. Ni e length & depth.
Exactly what I expect from a St Estephe - medium body, savoury tartness with just a touch of fruit and excellent food pairing.

Region: Saint-Estephe Grape Variety: Bordeaux Blend Red ABV: 13.5% . "Ruby red with violet reflections in colour, on the nose, aromas of plum and cassis with notes of spices. On the palate, dry, oaky, smokey, spicy, fruity, hint of tobacco, touch of leather and toast, delivers red fruits character, balanced, lengthy, soft, silky, layered, mature, earthy, persisted, rich, firm. It has a long finish." — 5 months ago
Tasty but needs more bottle age. — a year ago

Vintage 2019 | 375 ml | 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot | one hour in decanter | Cedar and pure chocolate, that mineral strictness that is typical for Saint Estephe, interesting smell, strict taste with powerfull tannins. Paired with rumpsteak and zucchini tarts. Lots of potential. — 6 days ago
