Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhône Blend 2022

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Fresh red berries on the nose with Indian spices and chocolate notes.

Medium in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate and complex.

Showing raspberries, cherries, black currants, plums, light oak, spices, chocolates, earth, coffee, wet leaves and herbs.

Medium length on the finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.

This young Grenache blend from Châteauneuf-du-Pape is very approachable, and already drinking beautifully, but needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly.

Well balanced and tangy, with good structure. Spicy and entertaining. Alcohol is nicely integrated already. Complex and engaging.

I had this wine as a 20 year old, and it was so much better with age.

This 2022 vintage in Châteauneuf-du-Pape is already showing its possibilities. Will continue to age nicely in the next 25 years.

Delicious by itself or with food.

A blend of mostly Grenache, from 40 year old vines, with all 13 grapes allowed in the appellation. Aged in used French oak barrels for 12 months.

15% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

Boisrenard Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc White Rhone Blend 2022

2022 vintage. Medium-medium heavy body. Solid/decent but twere this the first white Rhône I’d ever had, could take it or leave it. Not a big impression. Woulda preferred a Coke Slurpee. 07.11.25 — 6 months ago

Beaune Clos du Dessus des Marconnets Pinot Noir 2023

From a tiny, walled Monopole of the estate. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The Clos du Dessus des Marconnets (Pernot) pours a ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with a mix of tart and ripe mostly red fruit: strawberry, raspberry, cherry, red flowers, green herbs, some forest floor and subtle warm spices. On the palate, wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. A lovely and utterly classic expression of Bourgogne Rouge. Drink now through 2033+. — 8 months ago

Grands Vins de Bourgogne Puligny-Montrachet Chardonnay 2024

This Puligny-Montrachet stayed true to its heritage. Mineral and chalk my on the nose. Well rounded on the palate with a crisp start and light acidic follow through that pairs perfectly with Thanksgiving appetizers. Vive la France — a month ago

Les Argiles Bleues Rasteau Grenache Syrah 2021

Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru Chardonnay 2017

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of several hours and it needed it. The 2017 Bienvenue Bâtard-Montrachet pours a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, this was initially quite shy but after a couple of hours, the nose exploded into a veritable cornucopia: apples, pineapple, passion fruit, stone fruit, lemon curd, honeysuckle, flint, gentle warm spices and a mix of limestone minerals and gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long with a chalky texture. A banger. Drink now with patience; better after 2027 and through 2042. — 6 months ago

Pommard Les Noizons Pinot Noir 2023

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two hours. The 2023 “Noizons” pours a bright ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is youthful with abundant bright and tart red fruit with red florals: raspberry, strawberry, roses, mixed spices, and a combination of organic and inorganic earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. A very pretty wine that is very young. I expect it to flesh out over the next five years and be quite lovely through 2038. — 4 months ago
