Big tar, macerated cherries, dried leaves, roses, dried and fresh and a depth to it. Very deep aromas. Palate is opulent, yet stern and juicy with fantastic purity and balance. Great finish. Long and juicy. Nice sweet fruit on the finish. Black cherry and mid season cherry. Great wine. Love 18. Nose is fantastic after 3 hours. Super floral and so enveloping. Palate is velvety but firm. Power and balance; A rare combination especially at age. This 2004 drinks wonderfully now. Still fruit (plum) and flower notes ( classic rose petals) there. But also cedar, bouillon and asphalt. Love it!! — 4 months ago
