Target Gully Single Vineyard Central Otago Pinot Noir 2013

Mid crimson in colour with a tawny rim. This Individual vineyard Target Gully is only produced in exceptional vintages, like Pipeclay Terrace. Notes of black plums, cherry earth and florals, mainly violets. Just medium weight but with great intensity on the palate. Good restraint as many Otago Pinots are Pinots for Shiraz lovers. Oak influence has been totally integrated. A very good PN but it is definitely new world. This is one of the most medium bodied Pinots from Central Otago I have had. — a month ago

Still powerful and youthful in aromas & flavors. Black brambly fruits, roasted nuts & graphite. Expressive palate with refined tannins & cherry pie finish. — 3 days ago

Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

This single block is exceptional. Bountiful nose leads into a tantalizing black Cherry driven palate. Cases and coco, with hints of olive. Completely integrated tannins and soft mouthfeel. Still medium acidity for longer cellaring. — 11 days ago

Collector's Series 50th Anniversay Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Mount Veeder in Napa Valley.

Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, coffee, peppercorn, tobacco, smoke, peppermint, licorice, spices, chocolates and coffee.

Smells like figs wrapped in bacon, and shoved in the oven. Loved it, and loved those cedar notes.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity.

Long finish with soft tannins and tangy cranberries.

This 8 year old from the great 2012 vintage is spicy, rich and smooth. Delicious and tasty.

This is exactly what you want from a Napa Cabernet. Not too over the top. Nicely balanced with a great mouthfeel and nice complexity.

Delicious once it opens up. I had this vintage before and this time I gave It 3 hours. Will be good in the next 5 years.

Good by itself or with food. A nice sipping wine to share with friends and talk about.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

93 points.

dark ruby violet; a bit closed, blackberry, black cherry, graphite, menthol, sage; black and blue fruits, gravelly minerality; full bodied, very fresh acidity, suave tannins, 13.75% ABV; needs more time in the cellar but great potential here; $120 — 4 days ago

Peter Franus

Brandlin Vineyard Zinfandel 2015

25 year anniversary of this wine. I have been a Peter Franus fan for a long time. This zin is medium ruby, black and white pepper, clove, cedar, red cherry, vanilla on the nose--the wood is definitely pushing through, but not overpowering. On the palate, more blue/black fruit emerges, blackberry mainly. Tannins still pretty dry, alcohol high. I think this can rest even longer but it's great now too. Awesome!!!
