I like Liason in all shapes and sizes and 2020 has a lot to say without any pointy angles.
It's the one with a heavier hand, in cloudy maroon velvet sweats. Brighter and overt, the loyalists might miss some delicacy.
That familiar natty nose, with rolling perfumed volatility and stemmy, woodsy notes. Textured, syrupped, candied sweet cherry and rosemary for a mixed cocktail. — 3 years ago

Thanks G4 for inviting me to wine & food pairing at Il Bolognese. Deep maroon color with complex aromas of black fruits, cherry, tobacco, and spices on the nose. Full-bodied and follows by jammy flavors of blackberry, cherry, plum, chocolate, truffle, and soft peppery spices on the palate. Solid structure, firm tannins, and juicy aftertaste. Vibrant & delicious and paired well with red meat. — 7 years ago
Not bad. Light bodies, maroon translucency against light. Dried cherries with black pepper. Tannins roll off the tongue. Not bad. Would be great with a balsamic reduction sauce and steak. — 8 years ago
Goodness this is a beautiful wine. Perfectly paired with roast duck leg with blackberry reduction, this wine does NOT act 28 years old. The nose jumps out of the glass with dark chocolate, blackberry, black plum, spice and crushed velvet and blueberries. The color shows its hand with a little bricking to the edges, but still has a deep pale maroon color that shows she’s got plenty of life left in her. The tannin haven’t lost much of their grip, though much more dry and silty than grippy. The palate is medium bodied, but light on its feet, with less leftover fruit from the age, but still plenty of acidity, with blackberry preserves, leather, plum, balsamic, tar, and beef teriyaki jerkey, with some green peppercorn and a hint of iron on the finish that leaves a looong and fresh impression. — 2 days ago
1hr+ decant. Maroon color on the pour but darkish red in the glass. Aged Bordeaux on the nose with cedar and floral elements. Palate reflects the same with dark cherries, tobacco, and anise. Medium plus depth and medium finish. Right in my wheelhouse! — 2 years ago
Wine pours a dark maroon. Wonderful flavors of cherry pie, vanilla, and other berries and plum. Fairly acidic, moderate tannins and an excellent vegetable finish. The wine was a perfect complement to our prime rib and steak dinner the first night of our Christmas 2023 cruise. A definite rebuy-a good value in the premium Napa wines. — 3 years ago
Needed a moment to breathe. Super smooth— went great with grilled venison blackstrap — 4 years ago
Dried cherry, leather, sandalwood, caramel, faint potpourri notes on the nose. Maroon fading to brick red on edges of the glass, medium light body, more earthy & savory on the palate, nice frame of medium acidity ending with robust mouth-coating tannins but still a far cry from a young Barolo. I’m experiencing why #barbaresco is such a food friendly wine - set off so well with herby Porchetta and cremini mushroom creamy pasta. — 5 years ago

1hr+ decant. Lovely dark red, maroon color. Well balanced with rustic elements integrated with dark cherries. Lovely texture. Always fantastic! — 3 months ago
1hr+ decant. Red, maroon, prune color. Dark stewed fruit with some floral elements on the nose. Nose and flavor weren’t connected. Wine was pretty one dimensional with no real standout characteristics. Medium minus depth and finish. Not bad, had higher expectations. — 2 years ago
Has improved over past vintage & still at 11$. Slight grainy texture & fine tannins, maroon/red-black color. Medium to light viscosity with small red berry fruit predominant-but surprising depth, like a Beaujo Villages on steroids. Strong enough acid, & the mid palate wobbles but for this price, it’s Valencia rocks. Served slightly chilled on one of those 90 degree days, East Coast. — 4 years ago
Little bit floral. Very juicy. Most amazing maroon color — 7 years ago
