Smells like all of the great musky things about the dirt floor basement cellar of my childhood home. Tastes like peaches preserved in sweet Riesling. Nice medium effervescence. I would finish every meal with this.

It is time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday.
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Pretty nose of currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, earth, leather, chocolates, tobacco leaf, herbs, eucalyptus, peppercorn, alcohol, black tea and violets.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with plums, black currants, coffee, oak, vanilla, licorice, herbs, spices, dark chocolates, coffee, peppercorn, earth, pencil lead and light mint.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a delicious Merlot based Bordeaux blend from South Africa.
This 6 year old is starting to drink very nicely now. Nicely balanced with a smooth mouthfeel. Spicy and opulent. Fruit-forward and elegant with nice complexity.
Gets tangier as it opens up, and feels like a Washington State Cabernet Sauvignon.
Good right out of the bottle, and much better after 90 minutes in the decanter. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.
Wine Enthusiasts 91 points. Robert Parker 90 points.
A blend of 54% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Malbec and 6% Petit Verdot.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

$54 pinot. Translucent ruby red with and orange ring. Very clear. 13% alcohol: Herbaceous sage (roast chicken stuffing) mixed with cherries. Light to medium body. Strong herbaceous flavour followed by fruit and berry notes. Light to medium tannin drying out the tip of the tongue for a laser point finish of dry herbs and tip of the tongue. — 2 years ago
Opens on the nose with the smell of lees, underneath are early summer red 🍒 and a touch of balsamic and a touch of wood- maybe slovanian oak?
Tart, nice balance, refreshing and very drinkable. I was nervous to order it because it was listed under the 'Natural' wine selection but turns out that it's only organic and not bottle of kombucha. Excited to see that I might be able to find this for under $25.

Nose of currant, black cherry, licorice, light roasted coffee, peppery spices, and hint of soy sauce. Medium to full body with cascading acidity and silky candied tannins.
A charming Bordeaux blend of 54/41/5 CS/Merlot/CF from the famed DuBrul estate vineyard that’s drinking beautifully now. — 3 years ago
1999 vintage. A blend of 54% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot. A surprisingly good wine in a difficult vintage. Dark red with a slightly orange rim, looking rather young for its age. Cassis, leather, and spices.Good concentration and complexity, with still a lot of dark fruit, unexpectedly smooth tannin, and very good length. Abv. 13%. — a year ago
A charming, refreshing Rhône-style blend from Paso Robles. With nice balance and good acidity, the wine offers a fruity and floral nose, along with a buttery and citrusy palate. 54% Grenache Blanc, 29% Viognier, 9% Marsanne, 7% Roussanne, 1% Bourboulenc. 4/11/23. — 2 years ago
Last night I opened the 2009 Château Cambon la Pelouse. Left Bank Bordeaux from Macau in the Haut-Medoc. A blend of 54% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot.
On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, tobacco, licorice, cedar, charcoal anddark earth.
On the palate is black cherry, blackberry, black currant, green bell pepper, cedar, licorice and pencil shavings.
This wine is full bodied with a silky smooth mouthfeel medium acidity and medium fine tannins that leaves you with a medium to medium + long fleshy dark fruit earthy finish. Please have a wonderful weekend and stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 3 years ago
