Medium ruby , bright with quite wide ruby rim . Ripe red berries on the nose , really open and expressive, strawberry , raspberry , some herbal tinges also . Quite ripe , but still enough freshness . On the palate ripe red fruits , strawberry , raspberry and light red cherry . Suave tannins , integrated alcohol and fresh acidity , still with silky mouthfeel . Good slightly stony tinged red fruit finish . Drinking very well but still young and fruit driven , quite ripe but still well balanced . From now and over the next 5 -8 years . The very pleasant nose did not translate to taste in the way expected of this maker. Twenty years later, I believe this wine is still evolving, requiring more patience. The old adage about Burgundy applies - you are going to kiss some frogs before they become prince. Having said that, a long decant was useful. — 4 months ago
