Pale golden hue. Honeysuckle, ripe white peach, guava, lavender honey, and slate notes; moderate acidity. Dry and aromatic Riesling from Austria 🇦🇹 that pairs well with this rice noodle salad, with a Mirin-based dressing, seasoned with peanuts, ginger, red pepper, green onion, and cilantro. Vintage 2014. ABV 11.5%. — 13 days ago
Strawberries, raspberries, and a hint of rubber tree. Fresh and lively. Short on lived on my tongue, disappeared like a cab franc might. — 4 days ago
The slightest sweetness but mostly dry and nice mineral tones. — 9 days ago
Beautiful entry level Gruner from Loimer. Light yellow with a Greenish Tint. Medium aromatic intensity, medium body, medium plus acidity, medium finish and moderate complexity. Notes of flint, white pepper, green pear, Granny Smith apple, citrus, cut grass and lemon Thyme. — 2 days ago
This Austrian Pét-Nat Rosé is a joy to drink. Solid carbonation. Apples, strawberry, and bubblegum on the nose. Tart and super quenchable. A little tannin. Dangerous! — 10 days ago
Easy drinking. Good for the $20/L price point. Not as mineral or complex as Grüners at a higher price point. — 16 days ago
Canned pear, fresh acidity, limes and a ghost-like finish. — 10 days ago
Tonight's wine is the 2018 Schlosskellerei Gobelsburg Kamptal Riesling. This wine comes from Osterreich, Austria the A Terry Theise Estate. What a wonderful riesling this is, it checks all the boxes.
On the nose there is green apple, lemon, pear, jasmine, petrol, bicycle rubber tires and minerality.
The palate gives us lemon/lime, green apple, peach, petrol, flinty notes and a nice minerality.
This wine is medium bodied with a great balance and high acidity that gives way to a long crisp citrus finish. What a wonderful wine and a wonderful end to a nice weekend. I hope everyone had the same and stayed safe and healthy. Have a great week ahead. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂 — 2 days ago
